The purpose is to deliver effective, integrated, and high quality health care to patients. It involves bringing together various resources, techniques and systems to maximize the use of the wealth of medical knowledge, technological advances and drug breakthroughs that are available. It is used in a wide variety of health-related fields, including dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, medical research clinical care and public health.</p> <p class="InternalPageFonts" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-size: 12px; ">Since the applications of HI and their design depend on the needs of the local communities and hospitals, it is important to design educational programs that focus on implementing internationally accredited knowledge within the local context. Also, since HI by its nature, is a mix of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Health, it is important to develop multi-disciplinary training programs for healthcare providers, managers and IT professionals working in the healthcare environment. Dr Khoja works as Assistant Professor with department of CHS and coordinates eHealth Plan for Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi and the Aga Khan Development Network. He has extensive background and interest in using eHealth technologies to facilitate health care services and education. His research interests focus on creating evidence and policies to guide the implementation of eHealth in developing countries. Dr Khoja is currently leading the project called ‘PAN Asian Collaboration for evidence-based eHealth Adoption and Application (PANACeA)', which supports collaborative research in 17 Asian countries to create evidence for eHealth implementation. Dr Khoja chairs the e-Learning Technical Committee, and is member of eHealth task force and Skills lab group at AKU. Dr Khoja is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary.</p> <p class="InternalPageFonts" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-size: 12px; "><strong>Dr Zahid Ali Faheem</strong><br /> Dr Faheem is a Medical doctor, with post graduate degree in Family Medicine, and diplomas in Program Management and Quality Improvement. Saleem has sound business knowledge and extensive experience of working in a large Healthcare environment encompassing the effective and efficient use of Information Technology across all patient care functions.
