Description

Taiwan is an Island nation located in 180km East of China. It has lots of modern cities, rich traditional Chinese temples, hot spring resorts, rich culture and dramatic mountains ranges. Taiwan has been independent since 1950 for all the practice reasons. It is one of Asia&#39;s big traders. Taipei is the capital of Taiwan situated in its north and it is known for its busy night markets and hustle, Chinese Imperial art at the National Palace, Museum and Taipei 101, a 509m tall bamboo shaped skyscraper with an observational desk are also located in Taiwan.

	Its currency is New Taiwan dollar, recognized official languages are Hokkien, Hakka, Formosan languages and Yami. Its major religions are Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity. China claims Taiwan as a part of her territory and has declared it a rebel region. It also insists that nations cannot have official relations with both states at a time that is why Taiwan has diplomatic relations with very few countries. USA is Taiwan&#39;s biggest friend and diplomatic Ally. Despite of its diplomatic isolation, Taiwan has become an economic force to be reckon with in international trade zone.

	Education system of Taiwan is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education. Higher education system of Taiwan has produced some of the brightest minds in the world especially in Math and Science who have done wonders in the world. It has been criticized for putting too much pressure on students but recent educational reforms have intended to address this issue none the less this criticism is a topic of intense debate in Taiwan. Taiwan has over 100 institutions of higher education. Approximately 2/3 of the over 100 thousand students take the National University entrance exam and then they are accepted to any of the higher education institution.

	Higher education system of Taiwan is similar to the American higher education system. Since 1990&#39;s so many trade schools, junior colleges and high schools have been promoted as universities which accounts for the high university entrance rates. However a very high score is required for the admission to the socially and economically prestigious institutions.
