Description

When we talk about study abroad, there are many myths that surround this concept. People have many wrong beliefs regarding study abroad. Therefore we will discuss these myths in this article.

Language Barrier

Many people think that only the students studying language program can benefit from the study abroad courses in different international colleges and universities. The truth is like that there is no language problem while studying any specialized discipline in non English country. Usually every country offers programs in English language. Previously students were only interested to study in the countries like UK, UK, Canada and Australia. Now students can go in any country for higher studies like Sweden, Germany, Finland, France, China, South Africa, Norway, Spain, and Denmark etc. These are the countries in which English is not spoken as first language but the medium of teaching in these countries is English in most of the institutions. This is just to target all international students even if they are from non English countries. As English is an international language therefore, students can easily study their study programs in non English countries.

Study Abroad Is For Rich

One more myth about study abroad is that only financially stable students can afford study abroad because the cost is very high and not affordable for all students.

The cost of the programs depends on the type of the program as well as the country. It also depends on the student’s duration of the stay in the country. A study program could be less expensive in the similar way.

Most of the people think that studying in their own countries will cost them less as compared to studying abroad. But it is not always true. Many international universities and institutes offer scholarships for those deserving students who are outstanding and have shown brilliant results but are unable to pay their fees. The internet is a tool helping you find any kind of information. You can research on the World Wide Web about the international scholarships and how to receive them. There are many developing countries that offer less expensive study programs. There are many options but it needs to be explored.

Time Consuming Studies

One more common myth about the study abroad is that people think that it is a time consuming studies. It takes far longer time for the students to complete their studies. This is not true and you can graduate well on time if you study abroad. This is the world of technology and there is nothing hidden now. You can research on the internet about the duration of study abroad programs. Everything will be clear and you will come to know that there is no issue of time.

Juniors Are Eligible

People say that only the students in senior year go for study abroad programs. This is also untrue. There is no limitation of years. The students can go to study abroad in both senior and junior years. It only depends on the graduation date. And the best time is start in your freshman year.
