However contrasting in the past, it has become a hot fashion nowadays. Australia is among the top-rated target as far as excellence of education is concerned. And if everything goes on slickly, the next step for you is to apply for Australian study visa.

Study Visa - Recent Development

Australia assessments and reexamines its study visa process on consistent basis. Of late, the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship or DIAC has come up with a three-monthly report on study visa suite that openly shows a solid rise in the number of the foreign students from July 2011 to March 2012. The report describes that the visa application has risen by 2.1 percent as likened to previous years' figures. Last year 213,185 applicants applied for Australian Study Visa but the figure has increased to 217,690 till March 31, 2012.

Conferring to the Department, it has approved visa to 191,619 students till 31st March. It is a highest and huge increase (4.5 percent) from the last year's stats which was 191,619. The Department has publicized the fact that Chinese and Indian students are coming in larger numbers to pursue a wide variety of courses in Australian institutes. This year up to 31st March, 41,117 Chinese students have boarded for visa applications. Indian students are second highest in this respect. This year, Australian immigration department has received 28,067 applications from the Indian applicants. The Department has approved 19.5 percent of total applications from the Chinese students while the character is 14.4 percent in case of the Indian students.

Study Visa - More Laxity in Rules

In order to fly for Australia as the most beautiful destination for higher education, the immigration department has declared some solid changes in visa suite. The carelessness in rule has been brought about on the basis of Australian Study Visa 2011 and its calculated review. The assessment has been completed by the Hon Michael Knight AO.

According to the modifications, visa process has been made shortened for some of the applicants. Also the student visa holders are allowed to work for longer hours and from now on, they can also dedicate more time to study English language. However, the final option is for the school sector visa holders having minimum Assessment Level 3. Removal of Assessment level is subject to submission of evidences for proficiency in English language in support of the visa application claim.
