KARACHI: One week Intel International Science and Education Fair 2014 came to an end this weekend with a big ceremony which was held at the Convention Center in Los Angeles. Winners of the special award include recipients from Pakistan.
 The winning students Daanish Girls School, Hasilpur, were awarded $ 1,000 for their Giftedness and creativity by King Abdul Aziz and his fellow’s foundation. 
 
Students named as Sana Batool, Shazia Bibi and Iqra Irshad were honored for their work project named as Wind turbine with low air pressure. 

Teacher of those students; Sarah Saeed was also present at the event, was delighted with this recognition. 
 Daanish Girls School system is boarding school that enrolls only students whose family income is less than six thousand rupees.
Fourteen years old Iqra Irshad from Ahmedpur prefers math, &quot;but my teacher said my physics is pretty good.&quot; 

She plans to pursue a career in electrical engineering. Inhabitant of Vehari as well as farmer's daughter, Shazia Bibi said it was the first time in her family when a girl was getting higher education. She has an aim to become a mechanical engineer. 

Sana Batool from Bahawalpur, the daughter of a seamstress, but plans to become a public official. 
 Formerly, while speaking toDawn,&nbsp; participating students said they had enjoyed the opening ceremony, which included the exchange of pins and badges with students from other countries . 

Haris bin Ashraf student of Sheikh Zahid Bin Khalifa College, DHA, Karachi, said he wore traditional dress Sherwani and Jinnah cap in function, because of which many students came up to him to take pictures. 

&quot;It was fun,&quot; he said. He takes part in the biggest science fair of the world, along with his fellow students Babar Shah and Tahir Ajmeri with their group project to convert plastic waste into burning oil and other commercial products. 

Iqra said: &quot;People are so curious about Pakistan, and several students came to us to get their pictures.&quot; On Thursday, students had the opportunity to present their projects to the general public at the convention center.
Talal Agha of Agah Khan High School who had made a reconnaissance spy robot by using C sharp programming was seen explaining his project with confidence to some students and teachers who visited his booth. 

Further participating students and their projects include curing piles by Syed Minahil who is from forward Girls College, Hayatabad, Peshawar and prevention of ozone layer filter environmental protection by Sidra Riaz of Katchi Memon Academy, Gaya College Girls, and Karachi.
