	Want to help improve the Internet in your community? Check out the Internet Society Peering Fellowship 2025. It&rsquo;s a six-month program that&#39;s fully funded and invites future Internet leaders from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America &amp;amp; the Caribbean to connect with others who are working to make the Internet better and more affordable.</p>
<h2>
	What Is the Peering Fellowship?</h2>
<p>
	The Peering Fellowship, started by the Internet Society, aims to help people in the Internet field improve their skills in areas like peering, interconnection, and Internet policy. By joining, you&rsquo;ll contribute to improving Internet infrastructure in your area.</p>
<p>
	You&rsquo;ll participate in online training sessions and have the opportunity to attend a major peering event around the world.</p>

	This program gives you the chance to:</p>

		Gain more knowledge through training led by peering experts.</li>
	<li>
		Collaborate with others, share ideas, and build relationships that can strengthen peering efforts in your area during key events.</li>
	<li>
		Help make Internet access better and more affordable by working on local interconnection infrastructure and pushing for policies that support a healthy Internet environment.</li>
</ul>
<h2>
	Who is Eligible to Apply?</h2>
<p>
	If you fit the following criteria, we&#39;d love to hear from you:</p>
<ul>
	<li>
		You live in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, or the Asia-Pacific region.</li>
	<li>
		You have a passport that&rsquo;s valid until June 2026 to attend our events.</li>
	<li>
		You&rsquo;ve got at least 3 years of experience in the Internet industry.</li>
	<li>
		You can fully commit to a six-month program.</li>
	<li>
		You&rsquo;re available for virtual meetings between 11:00 and 15:00 UTC.</li>
	<li>
		You have a steady internet connection and the necessary devices.</li>
	<li>
		You can speak and write in English well, as this fellowship will be in English.</li>
	<li>
		You can dedicate around four hours a week to this six-month experience.</li>
</ul>
<h2>
	Peering Events</h2>
<p>
	These events bring local peering folks together to tackle challenges, celebrate successes, and network. Each participant attends one event that&rsquo;s relevant to their region during the fellowship.</p>
<p>
	For one peering event, you&#39;ll get:</p>
<ul>
	<li>
		A round-trip flight to the event.</li>
	<li>
		A hotel stay while you&#39;re there.</li>
	<li>
		A set stipend for any other expenses.</li>
</ul>
<p>
	Keep in mind that the Internet Society doesn&rsquo;t cover visa costs, and travel plans are only available for the scheduled workshop dates.</p>
