<p>Pakistani  students have yet again proved their mettle at the international level with  their superlative performance at the International Science Olympiads recently  held in Switzerland, Moscow, Denmark and Colombia in July and August, 2013. Four  teams of Pakistani students represented the Pakistan in the 24 International  Biology Olympiad the (IBO) in Switzerland, 45 International Chemistry the Olympiad  (IChO) in Russia, 54 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Colombia and the  44 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Denmark.</p>
<p>  All  the four teams showed excellent performance altogether winning three bronze  medals and four honorable mentions in these events. Higher Education Commission  and Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Islamabad  are the joint organizers of STEM <br />
  Careers  Programme for grooming talented youth for careers in Science, technology, Engineering  and Mathematics (STEM). The team&rsquo;s leaders were from NIBGE Faisalabad, HEJ  Research Institute, University of Karachi, GCU Lahore and PIEAS in selecting  and preparing these talented students for participation in science Olympiads. The  24 IBO was hosted by Switzerland from July 14-21, 2013. About 240 students from  60 countries participated in the event. Four students participated from  Pakistan in the event. Maha Nadir from Fauji Foundation College for Girls, Rawalpindi  won Honorable Mention. </p>
<p>  IBO  team was led by Dr . Zahid Mukhtar. The 44 IPhO was hosted by Denmark from July  7-15, 2013. A total of 381 students from 83 countries participated in the  Olympiad. The IPhO team was led by Dr . Shahid Qamar and Dr . Aftab Rafiq of  PIEAS, Islamabad. The 45&nbsp; IChO was hosted  by Russia, from July 15-24, 2013. About 291 students from 77 countries participated  in the event. Of the four students who participated from Pakistan in the event,  three of them won Bronze Medals. </p>
<p>  The  award winners are Muhammad Zain Raza from The City School, Islamabad, Huda  Zahid of Beacon house School, Faisalabad and Muhammad Ahmad Khan of Lahore  Grammar School, Lahore. The IChO team was led by Dr . Khalid M Khan and Dr. Muhammad  Raza Shah of HEJ Research Institute, Karachi. The 54 IMO was hosted by Colombia  from July 18-28, 2013. Over 500 students from 97 countries participated in the event.  Of the six students who participated from Pakistan in the event, Muhammad Adnan  from Lahore Grammar School, Shahzaib Ali from FFC Grammar School, Mirpur Mathelo,  and Muhammad Faaiz Taufiq won Honorable Mentions. The IMO team was led by Dr .  Barbu Berceanu and Ejaz Hussain Malik of ASSMS, GCU Lahore.</p>
