<p><strong>LONDON:  Pakistani Taliban&rsquo;s shot girl in Swat, Malala Yousafzai, has inaugurated  Europe&rsquo;s biggest &ldquo;Library of Birmingham&rdquo; on Tuesday.</strong></p>
<p>  Malala  Yousafzai is a Pakistani school pupil and education activist from the town of  Mingora in the Swat District of Pakistan&rsquo;s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa  province, which was shot down by Taliban on October 9, 2012. Malala inaugurated  the &ldquo;Library of Birmingham&rsquo; today where at least 1 million books have been  placed in order to promote education amongst the students across the World. The  Library of Birmingham was built with cost of &pound;189m while it has more than 200  public access computers, theatres, an exhibition gallery and music rooms.  Malala placed her copy of The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho in the library &ndash; the  last book to go on the shelves. She has been given membership to access the  archive. The new building also contains the Shakespeare Memorial Room, home to  a collection of 43,000 books, including copies of the Bard&rsquo;s First, Second,  Third and Fourth Folio editions. </p>
<p>While addressing to the inauguration event,  Malala Yousafzai highlighted the importance of education by saying that  Education is important in establishment of peace in the World and books are a  precious treasury.</p>
<p>  Malala  Yousafzai, who is currently residing in Birmingham after being treated at Queen  Elizabeth Hospital, expressed his feeling about the city by saying, &ldquo;Birmingham  is my second home after Pakistan. Malala was targeted by the Taliban after  campaigning for girls&rsquo; rights to go to school. It was in part of the country  where Islamic fundamentalists were trying to impose a strict form of Sharia  law. </p>
