International students who have graduated from <a href="https://www.studyabroad.pk/universities/universities-in-canada" target="_blank">Canadian universities</a> and are now currently working in healthcare and other important sectors will get a chance to earn permanent residency of Canada. This is part of the permanent residency programme which was put forward by Marco Mendicino who is the immigration minister of Canada. This residency programme was announced to retain the number of international graduates who are working and are somehow providing profit to the Canadian economy.

	Essential Workers in healthcare are nurses, physicians, dietitians and physiotherapists whereas the Essential workers in other occupations include cashiers, contractors, plumbers and other tradespeople.

	Acceptance of Application for Permanent Residency</h2>

	On 14th April, 2021 it was announced that almost 90,000 immigrants will be given the permanent residency, The IRCC or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will be accepting application for following three sectors.

			Around 20,000 spots will be available to those who are temporarily working in the Healthcare department and another 30,000 spots &nbsp;will be fixed for those workers who are working in selected essential services.

	<li>
		
			Around 40,000 applications of international graduates from Canadian universities will be accepted.

	Who are Eligible for Canada&rsquo;s New Permanent Residency Program?</h2>

	Those who are interested in this Permanent Residency programme of Canada are required to have atleast a year of working experience in the mentioned departments. Moreover international students should have completed a Canadian post-secondary program, no earlier than January 2017. The other requirements include a language proficiency in any of Canadian official languages, the applicants should be working and residing in Canada at the time of applying but their residence should be anywhere in Canada but not in Quebec.

	While talking to Media Mendicino listed out the benefits of this residency programme. He said that, &ldquo;the policies will help those with temporary status to build a career in Canada, while also playing a vital role in the recovery and development of the country&rsquo;s economy.&rdquo;

	This programme will help Canada in uplifting their economy which was getting affected due to the shortage of labors and also due to the ageing population. This Permanent Residency programme will help international graduates and French-speakers to start a career In Canada while also providing benefit to the country&rsquo;s economy.

	What is the Deadline of this programme?</h2>

	Starting from 6th May, 2021 new applications will be accepted for the Permanent Residency Programme of Canada. The deadline to apply for this programme is 5th November, 2021 or until the applications will have reached the mentioned limit.

	Through this program Canada will be providing around 400,000 immigrants Permanent Residencies in the year 2021.

	The sole purpose of this residency programme which is started by the IRCC is to give a token of appreciation to the immigrants who have been working as the front line workers during the whole pandemic. Canada is recognizing the efforts and the contributions of the immigrants working in healthcare.

	&nbsp;&ldquo;These new policies will help those with a temporary status to plan their future in Canada, play a key role in our economic recovery and help us build back better.&rdquo; said Mendicino in a press release.
