Despite official documentation declaration that international students cannot study the courses with a duration of less than 06 months, now international students can apply and travel to Canada for such courses having a duration of less than six months.

	Languages Canada through a letter to members clarified that international students are not allowed to travel to Canada on a<a href="https://www.studyabroad.pk/guides/study-in-canada/how-pakistani-students-can-get-pr-visa-for-canada" target="_blank"> Canadian temporary resident permit</a> or electronic travel authorization, however, they can travel to the country on a study permit. Confusion has been running among the candidates whether international students can move to Canada for short courses or not, said the association. However, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada reveals that international students are allowed to apply for short courses in Canada despite what documentation says.

	IRCC Canada Rules For Short Study Programs</h2>

	IRCC said that an issue regarding the Canada eligibility criteria for international students is not clarified for the applicants whether they are eligible or not. However, IRCC said that they are, currently, working on this issue. Applicants who are going to apply for a Canada study permit for short-term courses can designate during the eligibility survey that they are intended to stay longer than six months in Canada. Because of this survey, a documents checklist will be generated for the Canadian study permit application.

	IRCC also added that while completing the application, candidates should mention the actual dates and duration of their studies which reflect that they are willing to study for less than six months in Canada.

	Manager, international promotion and marketing at Languages Canada, Diego Sanchez, explained to the media that international students do not face any financial impact while studying short courses and this would be an important impact for Canada Languages School.

	Diego Sanchez also explained that 150,000 students were welcomed in 2019. Out of them two-third of students were applied and came for the short courses with a duration of less than 06 months. He added that the agencies have told Language Canada that they thought it is unable for students to travel Canada for the courses having a duration of under six months on a study permit. He also added that this confusion could affect students&rsquo; decisions while thinking to apply for short courses in Canada. The manager said that it is a crucial factor that when students get the answer that they are unable to apply and then they look for some other options.
