Description

Study Melbourne has revealed that the Victoria state of Australia will welcome international students in early 2021. However, a recovery plan for the education sector of the state has also been revealed. Victorian government has introduced The International Education Short-Term Recovery Plan 2020/21 along with the measures’ list that will be taken to stimulate the education sector.

Measures To Take For Victorian Education Sector

We know that during the lockdown situation the education sector from across the world has greatly been affected and Australia is not an exceptional case. However, right from the opening of the state for international students, the government is planning measures to create a new scholarship program as well as growth hubs in the key strategic markets. Martin Pakula, the minister of trade has said that the international education sector is a cornerstone for the recovery of the economy of the state of Victoria. The minister further said that timely and strategic support is required to recover the economy.

Pakula continues that in 2019, the worth of $13.7 billion was calculated by the international education sector. However, around 79,000 Victorian jobs are also supported through the international education sector.

In 2019, more than 250,000 international students were enrolled in Victoria’s higher education institutes. But in 2020, because of the pandemic, Covid-19, fewer than 120,000 international students enrolled. It is indicated by the National Institute of Economic and Industry Research that the revenue of the Victoria international education sector will be decreased to around $5.8 billion in 2020. It is revealed by the recovery plan that where the education sector has been affected by the pandemic, at the same time, international students have also been affected with many experiences including social isolation, financial hardships, and accommodation insecurity, etc.

In order to restart international student arrivals in early 2021, the Victorian Government will work closely with the federal government.

Career Opportunities In Australia

The government of Australia is also looking forward to facilitating international students the great career opportunities after completing their studies in the higher education institutes of Australia. Lead Scientist of the Victorian Government, Amanda Caples said that a globally competitive innovation ecosystem that is catalyzed by longstanding investment in science and research capability has been built by Victoria to provide local as well as international students the tools and technologies that are required by them to launch their careers. However, these capabilities would also build strong and meaningful connections between Victoria and the world.

Plan Your Study In Australia

During the lockdown situation, the Australian government tried to overcome the situation and possible strategies have also been designed to restart the international education sector. Now, the plan has been designed and scheduled by following which the government of Australia is looking to recover its economy as well as to protect the future of international students. So, students who are planning to start their study in Australia can get potential opportunities to start their higher education career in Australia. Students are offered an inquiry forum here by filling which they can get the complete consultancy that to what extent they are eligible to start their studies in Australia.
