There seems to be this general consensusthat the Canadian government does not give Study Permits to Pakistani studentsso they can study in Canada.&nbsp; But is thismyth or truth?&nbsp; While there are a goodnumber of rejections, most students have their Study Permit for Canadaaccepted.&nbsp; (Out of the students that Ihave helped place in Canadian colleges or universities, all of them got a StudyPermit for Canada.
There are some very important factors onemust know to increase their likelihood of being included in the numbers thatget their Study Permit for Canada.&nbsp; Theseare some of the most commonly seen reasons why a Study Permit application maybe rejected:
Unsuitableprogram:&nbsp;I have seen Study Permit refusals for students who chose a study programin Canada that was less than their current degree or level of studies.&nbsp; For example, if you have an MBA you shouldnot register for a 1 year diploma in hospitality management.&nbsp; That is a downgrade to the credentials youcurrently have.&nbsp; Secondly, I see refusalsfor students who register in a program that gives the student a very lowemployment opportunity back in their home country.&nbsp; For example, a Pakistani student who plans onstudying English as a Second Language in Canada will most likely not get aCanadian Study Permit.
Money/IncomeProblems:&nbsp;A person needs to show a bank account balance of the amount of tuitionplus $10,000.&nbsp; Additionally there areother financial requirements to meet.&nbsp;See theCanadian High Commission of Canada in Pakistan website on what isrequired.&nbsp; Also, although not required,it is recommended that one should try to pay their 1stterm fees upfront and have a receipt of that included with their applicationform.
InsufficientTies in Home Country:&nbsp; A student who files an application for aStudy Permit must show that there are enough ties in the home country to bringthem back home.&nbsp; Parents, family, currentemployment status, and prospective employment opportunities available once theinternational degree is obtained; all of these are factors that will help yourcase.
FraudulentInformation:&nbsp;If in any way, the Immigration officer suspects you are not going toCanada to study, then you will not get your Study Permit.
Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs andInternational Trade states that Pakistani students make a significantcontribution to the numbers and quality of international students who arestudying in Canada.&nbsp; Over a 10 yearperiod, between 1998 to 2007,the number of Pakistani students studying inCanada put Pakistan as a major source country for international studentsstudying in Canada.&nbsp; Pakistan hovered betweenthe 10th and 16th position.
Do not let what you hear determine yourchoice of where you want to study.&nbsp; Canadais still one of the best places in the world to study in.&nbsp; Like I shared earlier; all the students Ihave been able to place successfully in a Canadian institution got their StudyPermit.&nbsp; Apply to study in Canada; you willbe glad you did.
