Description

The United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has raised her voice for Malala Yousafzai, writing an opinion piece in favour of the 14-year-old Pakistani girl’s struggle for educational equality. She said that Malala should be considered for a Nobel Peace Prize.

The Hollywood leader’s note has appeared at Daily Beast, and underlines Malala’s dilemma, framed by her children’s reactions to the teen’s attempted murder by the Taliban.

It was difficult for them to understand a world where men would try to kill a child whose only crime was the desire that she and others like her be allowed to go to school, wrote the actress, who is engaged to Brad Pitt.

“As girls across Pakistan stand up to say “I am Malala,” they do not stand alone,” Jolie further said.

Malala is undergoing treatment in the UK after insurgents shot her in the head for her advocacy of equal-opportunity education. She suggested that the wounded girl should be considered for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Moreover, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has announced that Sitara-e-Shujaat (Star of Bravery) will be awarded to 14 years old Malala Yousafzai, who was shot by the Taliban last week for speaking out against the militants.

The minister said that Malala was a symbol of bravery. Malala received a bullet injury in her head and is currently being treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Malik was in Swat where he visited Kianat one of the two girls injured alongside Malala. The Interior Minister announced reward for both Kianat and Shazia.

Interior Minister promised provision of admission to Kainat in Medical College and job to her brother in Passport office. He also announced naming of three companies of Frontier Constabulary after Malala, Kainat and Shazia.

He also offered a bounty of Rs 10 crore for Pakistani Taliban spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan, who had claimed responsibility for the recent attack on the teenage rights activist.
