Mountaineer Nazir Sabir is globally renowned for his remarkable achievements in mountaineering. He is the first Pakistani ever to climb the Mount Everest on 17 May, 2000.He has climbed K2 in 1981, Gasherbrum II 8035m,[1] Broad Peak 8050m in 1982,[2] and Gasherbrum I (Hidden Peak) 8068m in 1992. He has been awarded for many times for his outstanding achievements in the mountaineering world including two state honors of Pakistan, The President&#39;s Award for Pride-of-Performance in 1982 and The Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) in 2001. Nazir Sabir is the only Pakistani ever to be awarded with honorary membership of the Alpine Club (UK) in 1992, the Polish Mountaineering Federation in 2002 and the American Alpine Club in 2008.(Wiki source). He is first civilian president of Alpine Club of Pakistan (a training center in Pakistan for mountaineering). According to <a href="https://www.studyabroad.pk/universities/universities-in-united-kingdom" target="_blank">University of Bradford (UK)</a> press release,&rdquo; Nazir will speak at the University on Monday 15 October, 6-7.30pm in a public lecture titled &lsquo;Looking Death in the Eye&rsquo;.

	Haroon Rashid a Bradford born, Hon Ambassador Gilgit Baltistan UK and Europe, said, &ldquo;It is a great privilege to welcome Nazir Sabir, a world class Mountaineer, to our great City of Bradford. We have some spectacular scenery within a few miles from our city centre, we have a great trekking and climbing community in Bradford and I&rsquo;m sure it will be, a thoroughly enjoyable evening listening to Nazir speak on his expeditions.&rdquo;

	Nazir said: &#39;I have accepted the invitation made by Haroon Rashid as part of my World Tour. I have heard of Bradford&#39;s outstanding beauty and am looking forward to my visit to Bradford and the surrounding area. I hope my visit will encourage Bradford&#39;s trekking and mountaineering community to come and visit Gilgit Baltistan, the rooftop of the World.&#39;

	Mr. Nazir has also been Advisor on <a href="https://www.studyabroad.pk/guides/" target="_blank">Education and Tourism</a> to the government in 1994. He gives inspirational lectures in Pakistani Universities and International Universities. His lectures in foreign countries encourages foreign tourism and he also gives <a href="https://www.studyabroad.pk/consultants/" target="_blank">consultancy</a> regarding travelling to climb mountains of Pakistan.

	His life, lose, mistakes and adventures in his own words</h3>

	During in an interview with Atlas Sparkistan, Mr.Nazir Sabir said, &ldquo;Mountains were not new to me, I was born in mountains, I have lost my older brother and nearly 58 closest friends in the mountains. My friends were kind enough to bring the kit for me and I did not have to worry about the expenses, I still remember when I was climbing K2, I did not sleep for 4 consecutive nights. And we were on the mountains for 50 days from base to top; I had a little Pakistani and Japanese flag. And when I lifted them, I was happier to see the flags then the summit itself. My biggest mistake was when I was at Nanga Parbat, I was not careful enough and I slipped, I could not do anything as I was falling on my back. One of my team members, a high altitude porter, grabbed me from my neck and pressed in the snow, otherwise I would not have survived&rdquo;.
