&nbsp;Having more than 1 million students, higher educational establishments of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:country-region></st1:place> form the system which considers to be one of the biggest in the world. In <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:place></st1:country-region> you can get higher education at universities (academies, institutes) of the 3-4th accreditation level. &nbsp;You will get Bachelor&rsquo;s degree after 4 years of studying, specialist&rsquo; s degree &ndash; after 5 years &nbsp;and Master&rsquo;s Degree &ndash; after five and a half or 6 years. Among all the enumerated degrees Specialist is the most popular.&nbsp;
You are admitted to the university by the results of the entrance exams in July-August. The academic year beginning on the 1st of September lasts up to the end of July (ends in July) and consists of two terms. All students go on holidays between two terms: the first term (September - January) and the second one (February - June). Summer holidays last for two months. At the end of each term the student takes 3 or 5 examinations and 3 or 5 tests (credits). Successful pass of examinations and tests guarantees the possibility of getting to the second term. Students have classes everyday but for (except for) weekends. They attend lectures, tutorials, work with materials in libraries and resource centers.<o:p></o:p>
Higher education course includes work placement, where students have the possibility to gain work experience. Recognition of the gained qualification is the priority of the state. In case of successful university graduation students get the Diploma no matter what form of property it refers to. The transcript of the subject list with marks is attached to the Diploma. Although the state guarantees the conformity (correspondence of) with qualification standards, the employer takes into consideration how authoritative the university is.<o:p></o:p>
Higher educational institutions of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:place></st1:country-region> welcome everybody who wants to study in our country and give an opportunity to get education of the international level. In the years of independence the network (system) of higher educational institutions has structurally changed. Now it varies in the types of educational institutions, forms of ownership and subordination, and is similar to the structure adopted in the world developed countries. Educational system includes state and private educational institutions.<o:p></o:p>
At the moment, 920 variously owned higher educational institutions of all accreditation levels work (provide education services) in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:country-region></st1:place> and guarantee qualitative training by more than 500 specialties.<o:p></o:p>

The educational system of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:country-region></st1:place> is represented with the numerous educational establishments which for decades train leading specialists in different fields of industry. Preparation of specialists is carried out in three educational directions: Bachelor, Specialist and Master (you may find additional information about the University specialities, in other sections of this site). Education terms (in brackets for extra-mural form of education): Bachelor - 4 (5), Specialist - 5 years (6), Master - 5.5 (6.5). Graduates get the state standard University diploma. University rendered the assistance in international legalization of diplomas through the Ministry of education and science of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<o:p></o:p>
Study of foreign citizens in educational establishments requires payment. Instruction of foreigners is carried out in accordance with the Law of Ukraine &ldquo;On legal status of foreigners and persons without citizenship&rdquo;, decisions of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 26.02.93 # 136 &ldquo;About the study of foreign citizens in Ukraine&rdquo; (with changes) and of 05.08.98 # 1238 &ldquo;About the approval of the Statute as for the enrollment of foreigners and persons without citizenship to studies in higher educational establishments.&rdquo;<o:p></o:p>
Foreigners, who get state grants on international agreements, national programs, other international obligations of <st1:country-region w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:country-region>, are enrolled for studies on the basis of directions of the Ministry of education and science of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:place></st1:country-region> according to the governmental state order quotas. While enrolled to the other majoring directions (specialities) the foreigners of Ukrainian origin, who were sent for studies from the officially registered Ukrainian national and cultural societies, enjoy the same rights, as the citizens of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ukraine</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<o:p></o:p>
If they previously participated in the international olympiads on general program subjects, the entrance examinations are defined by University as the profile one for entering to the chosen by the applicants faculty preparation (speciality).<o:p></o:p>
All the applicants of foreign origin can study only on the contract basis.<o:p></o:p>
