Description

While a good education works wonderful for the prospect of a career abroad, it also extremely cost for your finances. It is not always easy to ask your parents to ask you back home, but still living with a low budget of funds can be managed while studying abroad in any major country of the world.

In such a scenario, part time jobs can be accepted as an ideal choice, because it reduces extra burden on parents, while students feel the responsibility to take some unique experiences, feeling of responsibility and discipline.

The following are couple of part time jobs that are suitable for Pakistani students while they pursue their study abroad dreams in a foreign country.

Canada

According to the latest legislation of the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) department, an international student is now allowed to work off campus provided they have a valid full time study permit. Also there is a limit that course length they pursue must of at least 6 months duration. Students are allowed to join an internship or become research scholars. Students can also join odd jobs such as in the hospitality industry. They can take up to 20 hours per week jobs.

New Zealand

New Zealand is one of the most beautiful places in the world, in terms of the quality of education provided, New Zealand stands in top 20 countries in study abroad destinations. New Zealand was among the first few countries to enforce a 'code of practice' for foreign students' acceptance institutions. Students can work up to 20 hours per week during their regular classes while they can work full time during holidays. There are plenty of part time and full time job opportunities for students during their studies.

United States

Students can take 20 hours per week work on campus during their studies in United States. However, working off campus is not allowed in the US. This seems a problem but typically students find plenty of opportunities even on the campus. There are always vacancies in library, tutoring, research assistance and more.

Australia

International students in Australia are permitted to work at their student visa for at least 40 hours per fortnight in Australia, while a person is allowed to work unlimited hours during the semester break. This work is available in different areas like retail, hospitality, services, industry. It is necessary for students to apply for the opening of a Australian bank account and apply to the tax file number to be taxed at a reasonable rate.

United Kingdom

As in other countries, UK allows students to work up to 20 hours per week during their study term. On the other hand, students can work full time during vacations. But there is a catch. If a student is taking a course or program that is of less than 6 months, then he or she cannot work.

In short, most of the popular study abroad destinations allow work option to students who are staying in the host country for courses of 6 or more months. Some countries require special authorization and allow more flexibility of working hours during holidays and vacations.
