The purpose of writing this article is to explain the current working policies implemented on student dependents by the applied country. A student dependent may be the spouse, children or parents of the person who apply for the student visa. </b></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic""> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"><u><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic"">Tier 4 (General Student) Dependent Policies by United Kingdom </span></u></b></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"><u><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic""><span style="text-decoration:none"><br /> </span></span></u></b></p> <p style="text-align:justify" class="Default"><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic"">Tier 4 General students who will be studying in the UK for six months or less cannot bring their partners and/or children (also known as dependants) to the United Kingdom with them.</span></p> <p style="text-align:justify" class="Default"><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman";color:windowtext"> </span></p> <p style="text-align:justify" class="Default"><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic"">Only those Tier 4 (General) Student are allow to bring dependents with them in United Kingdom who are enrolled in a course that is of post-graduate level with a Tier 4 sponsor which is a UK higher education institute and that course is 12 months or longer.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Means if a student is studying a course below Master’s degree he/she cannot bring dependents with him/her in the United Kingdom. Also, if a student is studying at a college/institute which has either A-Rated or Highly Trusted status or not a higher education institute can not sponsor or bring dependents with him/her.</span></p> <p style="text-align:justify" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic"; color:black"> </span></p> <p style="text-align:justify" class="Default"><span style="font-family:"Century Gothic"">For family members of Tier 4 (General) Students only – if the main applicant’s grant of leave is for less than 12 months the family member will not be allowed to work whilst in the UK, unless the main applicant is a Government Sponsored Student. For family members of Tier 4 (General) Students only – if the main applicant’s grant of leave is for a course of study below degree level, the family member will not be allowed to work whilst in the UK, unless the main applicant is a Government Sponsor student.
