Description

The USA study visa is an essential requirement for Pakistani students who wish to study in the United States. Without a valid student visa, you will not be allowed to enter the United States to study. To obtain a student visa, Pakistani students must first apply and be accepted into a U.S. academic institution that is authorized by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Once accepted, you will need to apply for a student visa at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Pakistan. Different types of USA study visas are given in the following table:

Types of Visas

Definition

Application Fee

F Students Visa

This type of study visa is for students applying at an accredited USA University or institution or applying to study English Language at an English teaching institute.

$160

J Exchange Visa

This type of study visa is for participation in USA exchange programs, including university and school-level study too.

$160

M Student Visa

Students can apply for this type of study visa who are interested in USA non-academic or vocational training program.

$160

It is essential to start the application process early to ensure you have enough time to obtain the necessary documentation and schedule an interview at the embassy or consulate.

USA Study Visa Requirements

Here are the general requirements for obtaining a student visa for the USA:

First, you must be accepted at an institution that is approved by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). This includes universities, colleges, and other educational institutions that offer academic or language training programs.

Once you have been accepted at a SEVP-approved institution, you will receive a Form I-20, which is a document that shows that you are eligible to apply for a student visa. You will need to provide this I-20 document when you apply for your visa.

You will also need to pay a SEVIS fee, which is a fee that is required for all F, M and J visa applicants.

You will need to fill out a visa application form (DS-160) and pay the visa application fee.

You will need to attend an interview at the US embassy or consulate in your country. During the interview, you will need to provide information about your plans for studying in the US, your financial situation, and your ties to your home country.

You will need to show that you have the financial means to support yourself while you are studying in the US. This may include providing bank statements, letters from sponsors, or other evidence of financial support.

USA Study Visa Bank Balance Requirements

While applying for the US Student Visa, candidates have to demonstrate that they have the financial means to support themselves while studying in the US. There is no specific minimum bank balance requirement. Still, you will need to show that you have sufficient funds to cover your tuition fees, living expenses, and any other expenses associated with your program of study for at least one year. The amount of funds required may vary depending on the program and location of the study. It is recommended that you research the estimated cost of attendance for your specific program and institution to determine the amount of funds you will need to show.

Proof of Financial Support

By providing evidence of your financial support, you demonstrate that you can pay for your education and living expenses without relying on US government assistance. You can prove your financial support by providing your bank statement. Candidates can also provide other evidence of financial support, such as scholarship letters, letters from sponsors, study loan letters, etc. It is important to note that providing false or misleading information about your financial situation can result in your visa application being denied or revoked, so be sure to provide accurate and truthful information.

USA Study Visa Application Fees

Before applying for any US study visa, all candidates must pay the student and exchange visitor program (SEVIS) Fee of $350. Congress has made the I-901 SEVIS Fee mandatory to support the program office and the automated system that monitors students and exchange visitors and ensures that their status is maintained while they are in the US. After paying the SEVIS Fee, candidates have to submit the US student visa application fee of $160. The student visa application fee is non-refundable meaning that you will not get a refund if your visa gets rejected or you decided not to pursue your visa application.

USA Study Visa English Language Requirements:

Unlike most of the countries, USA does not require you to prove your English language proficiency for the US Study Visa. However most US universities and colleges will require you to demonstrate your English language skills by providing valid English language proficiency scores as a part of the application process.
