Description

The education sector faced the most repercussions due to the deadly Covid-19 pandemic. Ever since Covid-19 was declared a global pandemic, education institutes all around the world were shut down, every state government made this decision to block the virus from spreading further. The closure of educational institutes was a nightmare for international students because the bulk of them had to return to their home countries, whereas many founded themselves stranded in a foreign land

However, now that the crisis is generally under control, institutions and colleges all around the world are progressively reopening, allowing international students to return to their campuses. These institutes are now accepting applications for physical classes as well. So, for prospective foreign students, here is a guide to the three things you must consider if you choose to study abroad during a pandemic.

Student Visa

If you wish to study abroad, you may be aware that obtaining a student visa is the most critical and vital stage in the application process, any errors in the student visa application might result in the cancellation of your application.

To apply for the student visa you must gather all of the relevant documentation. You may need to call the embassy to get the necessary information for the application procedure, quarantine and vaccination requirements. As for United States, F1 visa does not allow the international students to enter the country before 30 days from the commencement date of their course.

Communicate with your college and University administration

With every passing day, every country has new updates regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. Some countries are reopening, whereas some are closing their borders to control the pandemic. It is necessary for you to keep an eye on the Covid-19 updates.

Get in touch with your institute, keep an eye on all the news regarding the reopening of institutes, exam announcements, commencement of your classes, Covid-19 guidelines. Email your institute if you have any questions related to vaccination and quarantine.

Get Yourself Vaccinated

Every country is constantly telling the international students to get them vaccinated before arriving for on-campus classes. All the institutes in United States have made Covid-19 vaccination mandatory for international students. In countries like Canada, UK and Australia vaccinations are not mandatory for the students but the Governments have advised the international students to be fully vaccinated to enjoy safe education environment in universities.

The Government of Canada has announced that students, who have received their complete vaccination dose before their arrival in the country, will be considered fully vaccinated and they will not have to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in the country. AstraZeneca, Pfizer–BioNTech, Janssen, Moderna, Sinopharm-BBIBP, Sputnik V are WHO approved Covid-19 vaccines.
